Nominated for Premios Soberano (2024)
CIA operative Joe tries to balance her personal and professional lives as the spearhead of the agency’s war on terror. Real-life military advisors helped create a more authentic execution of gun handling, house clearing, positioning, action-based action, etc…
Great acting from everyone
Best New Series, after the disappointing 4th season of Jack Ryan and lackluster shows all around, this was a much better show in every way. It looks really well made, and the action/fight scenes look great.
Also, I haven’t seen any red flags so far like every male looking incompetent or anything like that
It seems like most of the criticism of this show in the comments section comes down to how unrealistic it is because of the whole female operator thing, and I, as a guy, don’t mind a good female-led action series that’s an original IP that doesn’t turn the male lead into a female lead. I also initially thought it was going to be more of an action show with no nonsense, but then they dove into the family a bit and I usually cringe at that, but I didn’t like what they did there.
We’ll see what the great Morgan Freeman brings to the show
My only criticism is that the plot of what this particular group of operators does is very limiting to the story and could kill it by going through the plot of the season/villain… it needs to be more inclusive so they can eventually make a new, more action-packed, fast-paced Homeland, otherwise it risks becoming too episodic like The Blacklist PS: So far Nicole Kidman’s role is incredibly small and uneventful and could have been done by anyone else…
It’s entertaining even without the History Channel show that some commentators prefer
But from what I’ve seen so far, the show could stand on its own with Zaldana without any other A-Listers. TLDR Overall, cautiously optimistic, but I like what I’ve seen so far, everything is incredibly polished and well-made.
