Charles, a retired man, gets a new lease on life when he answers an ad for a private investigator and becomes a mole in a secret investigation at a nursing home. Based on the Chilean documentary “El Agente Topo”. Remake of Salainen agentti vanhainkodissa (2020). I think a lot of works of fiction naturally have the goal of making you think something like “It was an honor to share the lives of these fictional characters.” This show hits that goal undeniably well. Even those who come for the mystery, which was less focused on, should be captivated by the humanity that is carried through not only in the writing but in the acting of all the cast members. Kudos to all departments involved. Although Netflix has been harsh with series renewals lately, I hope they fulfill the potential of this show by giving them a season 2 as I look forward to seeing more of these amazing characters’ journeys.
